Golf Digest Hot List 2010
Author: lynn
We know you get just as excited as we do when new golf equipment is released, be it a spanking new driver, shiny new irons or a new flat stick aimed at helping you hole more putts. Here we bring you news of the newest and most mouth-wateringly gorgeous products on sale before anyone else...
Driver
Callaway FT IZ – I think Callaway have produced a brilliant. They have made use of carbon fibre technology and excellent weight placement to minimise weight and place it in the areas that matter, behind the face of the club. Combine this with the look of the club and I think you have the best driver in 2010.
Fairway Woods
TaylorMade R9/R9 TP – TaylorMade have a habit of making great fairway woods and this year they have done it again. I think this is one of the best clubs in all categories this year. I'm not the biggest fan of adjustable clubs but being able to adjust the lie for a fairway wood will help when on a bumpy fairway for a 200 yard shot to the green.
Irons
TaylorMade Burner – Last year TaylorMade introduced these irons last year and in my opinion they produced a great set of irons and this year they have tweaked the set and made them even better.
Wedges
Titleist Vokey Design Spin Milled – When it comes to wedge design and performance, the year after year consistent performer has always been Titleist and this year is no different. With seventeen different loft and bounce combinations and different milled groove depths, there is a wedge to suit every player.
Putters
Putters can be very tricky to choose from. I feel that you test a few out to see which one suits you better and which one you are more comfortable with. So with that said these are the putters which I am looking forward to most: Odyssey White Range – Odyssey always produce great putters and this new line is certain to be an improvement on the ones last year; Nike Method – We saw this putter being tested on the tour last year by some players, and with an interesting face design I would like to see what the final version is like
Ball
Now, with the new wedges ball selection is even more important than before. As I like to play intrecate shots on the short game, I have always selected a softer ball which gives more spin than a harder ball and this year I think a softer ball may be better for most players.
