Why Choose Hybrid Irons?
By Paul M Hayes
Hybrid Golf Clubs are increasingly becoming more common on the tour scene and in the bags of recreational players alike. From tour professionals to lower handicap players, through to the higher handicap and senior players alike, there is a Hybrid golf club that will meet your needs.
The most common design goal between all the Hybrid Irons out in the market today is for a higher trajectory, higher Moment of Inertia (MOI) and more ball spin. In the case of the Hybrid Iron, if the manufacturer can succeed in these areas than the club will not only perform exceptionally well but most importantly, be a very forgiving club if you are ever to hit the golf ball off center.

The higher trajectory of the Hybrid Irons mean that you do not have to hit the ball as hard or as fast as you would a long iron to achieve the same distance. The higher moment of inertia reduces the twisting of the club face upon impact. Twisting of the club face upon impact is bad because it greatly effects the direction of the ball when you hit the ball center. The higher ball spin makes for easier draws.
The senior players are raving about this new technology as it is literally adding years to their golfing life. This is because they do not need to swing the ball as hard as the traditional irons would demand to achieve the same distance. For the senior player acquiring a full set of hybrids is highly recommended.
For the higher handicap player, the high Moment of Inertia (MOI) of the Hybrid Irons are drastically and consistently reducing round scores as the Hybrid Irons are much more forgiving when it comes to off center hits.
The lower handicap players through to the Tour professionals are benefiting from blended iron sets. That means they typically will mix 2 to 3 Hybrid Iron golf clubs with traditional forged iron clubs generally as they prefer the Hybrid Irons over the long irons. When one stroke can make the difference, it makes sense to go with the technology that is generating the results.
Because the Hybrids are so much easier to hit, the long irons are starting to become redundant. The 2 iron and 3 iron are progressively being phased out. I welcome this trend as it means the manufacturers are focusing on improving this technology and I am sure that the best is yet to come.

The article was still worth reading. This site has informative posts. Happy I was searching for “nike junior golf clubs” today. Thanks so much!
I love this unit. This is my second Garmin unit(I had a Nuvi 350) and operates as well as a more expensive unit. The widescreen is a plus and I don’t know how I lived without it. I use it with Bluetooth connection to my cell phone (HTC), it is great because it auto connects each time I get in my car (I use this unit for two cars) … It is easy to get the sound to come from my car radio by simply tuning to the right FM channel. I love it.
I love hybrid golf clubs because they are much more forgiving than the rest of my clubs. Even though I don’t get to use it all the time, when I do get to hit it, it always saves me in my long game.
